Two weeks in Bali is a holiday. Two months is a routine, whether you plan for one or not — and building a good one turned out to matter far more than the surf or the sunsets, as good as both were.
The routine that stuck
Surf at 6am before the wind picked up, work from a co-working space through the heat of the day, train in the early evening, eat at a warung most nights instead of a beach club. Nothing revolutionary — the value was in actually sticking to it for eight weeks straight, longer than any routine usually survives a trip.
