Alex Unpacked started with a one-way flight and a phone camera. What was supposed to be a three-week trip through Southeast Asia turned into a much longer, much messier education — in travel, obviously, but also in staying fit without a gym membership, building a daily routine with no fixed address, and figuring out which pieces of gear actually survive real use.
A few years and a lot of countries later, this site is the running record of that: honest destination guides, training notes from wherever the map points next, the slower lifestyle stuff that doesn't make the highlight reel, and gear reviews written after actually packing the thing, not reading its spec sheet.
The name is the whole idea, really — unpacking a place, a routine, or a piece of gear properly, instead of just posting the postcard version.
